As a digital agency in constant growth, we at Andes Development spotted a critical gap in our own knowledge management: how we document and hand off operational know-how. To solve it, we built a centralized mobile and web application for creating, learning, and walking through internal processes step by step — making sure our operations are standardized and fully repeatable by any member of the team.
// The challenge
The core problem was retaining and transferring technical and operational knowledge. Many critical tasks were done from memory or scattered across multiple sources, like videos and Google Drive documents. That created real bottlenecks:
- Slow learning curves Whenever we replaced or onboarded a team member, training started practically from scratch or leaned heavily on the constant help of people already familiar with the work.
- No single source of truth There was no one place where the team could look up the exact steps for a given task.
- Friction in navigation Complex processes require moving nimbly between many steps without losing your place — a real state-management challenge on the interface side.
// The technology solution
Led by our developer José Interiano, with technical oversight from Dennis Santos and support from David Núñez, the team built an end-to-end solution from the ground up. We designed an architecture that puts fluidity and internal data security first.
- Cross-Platform Development with Flutter We built the app on the Flutter framework, which let us ship a high-performance native experience on both iOS and Android — and opened the door to a web version.
- Backend and Data Security We stood up a robust infrastructure for storage, process organization, corporate security, and granular access permissions.
- Frictionless Authentication (Magic Links) Instead of the traditional, tedious username-and-password setup, we implemented access exclusively through magic links — one-time authentication links that let team members sign in to the app instantly and securely.
- Smart State Navigation To solve the user experience (UX) challenge in long processes, we programmed a dynamic menu that lets users jump fluidly between steps (say, hopping back from step 15 to step 1) without losing the context of the task at hand.
// Results and key wins
Rolling out this tool didn't just fix an administrative headache — it raised the technical ceiling of the Andes Development engineering team:
-
Centralization
Internal knowledge management unified on a single platform. -
Cross-Platform
Successful native deployment across iOS, Android, and the web. -
Magic Link
Secure, frictionless access through one-time authentication links.
// Conclusion
The process app proves our ability to spot real operational pain points and solve them with custom software engineering. This internal build didn't just speed up onboarding and standardize tasks at Andes Development — it also sharpened our team's command of the Flutter framework, readying us to deliver complex, fluid, and secure mobile applications for our clients.
